Thirty years ago, if I'd said "where on earth is my white charger?", I'd have been hoping one of these would come along.
And I'd have been more interested in the knight on top of it.
These days, I say "where on earth is my white charger?" pretty much daily, but now, this is the extent of my hopes and dreams.
Of the collection of wiry things that hang around our house, this white one is the one I know fits my phone. It's meant to live permanently in one spot on the kitchen counter, but it often walks into the sitting room, the study, or the bedrooms of other members of the family.
I've found the second meaning of the word to be less romantic, but more use, honestly.
.

That made me laugh, when I started reading I didn't know what was coming! I have chargers in the sitting room, the bedroom and the car. One simply isn't enough, even though it's only me here.
ReplyDeleteThat made me smile! :) I have enough white chargers to start my own small shop - yet I still seem to be unable to find one sometimes.
ReplyDeleteThat reminds me, the punk rocker borrowed mine and I can guarantee he hasn't put it back in the place I devised for all those wires. Don't know why I bothered.
ReplyDeleteAh yes, that is probably why I can't always find one - someone has 'borrowed' it. :)
DeleteThat part of the morning where everything is a bit chaotic and I click on a blog I enjoy and have a proper laugh - huge thanks, really !
ReplyDeleteMy dad used to call mobiles 'portables' and refer to the MOD as the WD - sweet no ?
Well, "portable" is a more accurate description of the items concerned, if you think about it.
DeleteHa that made me laugh.
ReplyDeleteOne thing I've noticed is that people no longer talk about "mobiles" - it's just, where's my phone? The actual landline "phone" lies neglected, hardly ever used except to answer annoying junk calls.
The angst resolved thanks to Amazon basics in my house. I have a charger hanging out of every plug where I used to find mine after it had been 'borrowed'!
ReplyDeleteBut I'm still holding out for hero on a white charger to drop by, he would probably be a bit stiff after riding and unable to carry me because his back went years ago, but the thought of the effort would be enough for me before we both had a nice cup of tea together 'before we started the journey' and stopped a few times on the way to paradise just to stretch our legs and because we were sure we remembered there used to be a nice tea shop around this area once!!!!!!!
Love it! Mine are always going missing too guess where - with the boys - can't wait until my tech is too old for theirs!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad it is not just us that has chargers that seem to go walk about
ReplyDeleteAll my family are constantly stealing my white charger as well.
ReplyDeleteIt's interesting to hear you are a fellow repat now! It's a strange business, I find.
(I'm over to add you to my new RSS feed as I'm now back in blogland after three years.)
For sure. Because while that handsome knight on top of the charger might make you swoon, how will you bring your phone back to life to take a selfie with said knight once you've come to, unless you have the second, more utilitarian charger? Life is full of tough choices.
