Didn't you just love that? At George Bush's last press conference as US President, he told journalists that they had sometimes misunderestimated him.
I have more in common with him that I realised. I often feel misunderestimated too. People have been misundertaken about some of my best misundertakings.

This is wonderful. If Will Shakespear got to introduce hundreds of new words to the English language, why shouldn't an out-going President get to add a word or two too.

Bush actually got a huge amount of press by saying "misunderstimated" before. I can't remember when, but it was a while ago. What isn't clear from this press conference is whether he was being facetious or not. Is Bush capable of being ironic? Or did he just never get the first mistake?
I was wondering the other day whether my fondness for the (comparatively) sparkling oratory of Obama, was anything to do with the turgid and, let's face it,fist-gnawingly dreadful spoutings of Bush.I'm counting the days...

LOL! There are few things I'll miss about Bush, well none at all actually! But his turn of phrase has had me in giggles over the years.
